Are you an experienced Design Engineer ready to take on new position in a specialist engineering comapny? Our client are a well-established company who specialise in the manufacture of industrial cranes and special-purpose mechanical equipment.

They are now looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join their growing team who are based out near the North Yorkshire Coast.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for overseeing and leading a team of driven engineers to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions. This is a senior-level position where you'll have the chance to make a significant impact on the company moving forwards.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mentoring and guiding a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of precision and continuous improvement.
• Overseeing multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and the highest quality standards.
• Collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical expertise, and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Creating high-quality engineering drawings, perform stress analysis, and prepare detailed reports.
• Spearheading the development of new products and enhancements to existing ones.
• Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and client specifications.
• Tackling complex engineering challenges with expertise and sound judgment.
   

Requirements:

• A strong amount of experience within a design-based engineering role within a medium/heavy mechanical engineering environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD, strong understanding of stress analysis, and experience with electrical or hydraulic circuits.
• Proven track record of leading design teams and managing projects.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Experience with winches, cranes, industrial gearboxes, or special machinery is highly desirable.
• Significant experience in the commissioning of mechanical systems or equipment is highly desirable.
