My well established client, based in Bedford, is looking to recruit an Engineering Workshop Assistant to work within their experienced engineering team. This role is available due to a promotion. 

This is a fabulous opportunity for either a candidate with relevant experience or someone who is looking for the opportunity to work within the engineering industry and benefit from in house training.

If you are looking for your first opportunity to work within the engineering industry you must be someone that wants to be trained on all manual skilled tasks and is happy to stay on the shop floor for the medium term and learn to a point that you are able to work independently.

Role:

  • Cutting and assembling aluminium fabricated frames
  • Assisting with installation of robotic systems
  • Operating workshop machines including saw and pillar drill
  • Occasional travel to customer sites in the UK
  • Very occasional work at weekends required
  • Painting completed fabrications

About you:

Experience within an engineering or mechanical setting is an advantage although not essential as full in house training will be offered to the right person.

  • A willingness to learn & punctuality is essential
  • A full UK driving licence is required
  • You must be willing to travel to customer sites in the UK on occasion (expenses will be paid)
  • A counterbalance forklift licence an advantage although not essential as my client can offer training
  • Be happy to work a 40 hour week and work overtime as and when required.
