The Opportunity

Based onsite at Torr Works near Shepton Mallet, a Limestone Super Quarry one of the largest in Europe we now have an opportunity for a Rail Distribution Manager. Following a large investment into this Super Quarry we are now looking to expand our team and streamline processes onsite.

Internally known as the Assistant Distribution Manager, you’ll have full responsibility of our haulage, both by rail and road. With direct management responsibility of x16 team members across the Weighbridge and rail department, you’ll be the integral part in ensuring 5.5m tonnes of product is moved from site compliantly and efficiently.

You’ll manage the inspection and maintenance schedules for the 14 miles of rail track onsite. Work to improve our efficency as a department and liaise with 3rd party logistics hauliers. 

Who you are

This is an active quarry with rail and road haulage options. So you’ll need to have an understanding of rail compliance and we can support your development with road and quarry compliance

Ideally you’ll have some management experience, however if you have an excellent compliance background within the rail industry we can support your development into management.
