Are you an experienced Sales Manager? Do you consider yourself to be someone who aims to exceed a target and aim for the top? Are you based in or around the North East or North West of England?

We have a permanent role available within TATA Steel. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication, negotiation and IT literacy skills. The successful applicant will come from a strong sales background within the building sector. 

Role: Area Sales Manager (Northern England Territory)

Location: Flexible providing the successful applicant resides in the NE or NW of England 

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 (dependent upon experience) + Company Car + Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Building strong relationships with customers

  • Identifying customer need and requirements 

  • Promoting TATA’s products and services to eligible customers

  • Managing customer performance against targeted sales

  • Ensuring sales forecasts are accurate and sales targets are met 

  • Increasing spend for designated key accounts

  • Reporting on progress and required metrics to senior management 

  • Updating CRM systems and logging sales leads

  • Resolving invoice queries

  • Delivering training to customers on product, pricing and process 

Essential requirements:

  • Experience managing a sales territory (2+years)

  • Proven experience delivering on and exceeding sales targets (2+years)

  • Knowledge of the building merchants and developers sector 

  • Good awareness of competition law 

  • Profound negotiation skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Flexibility towards travel and understanding that some days may be longer than others 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Good IT Literacy especially with MS Office 

  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise way

  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload under minimal supervision
