The Junior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Design Engineer and the Engineering Design team in the design and development of electrical power systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Your support and expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and deliver the design of electrical systems and components for various projects.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to support ongoing projects, providing assistance in areas such as surveying, primary and secondary design, system integration, testing, and commissioning. Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency and business improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, and reports. Ensure that documentation meets the organisational and clients’ procedures, standards and requirements.
  • Use Computer-Aided Design (“CAD”) software to deliver electrical and civils designs.
  • Support the Design Engineers to update the project programmes and budgets trackers on a regular basis.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality technical reports and presentations.
  • Understand industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical and civil engineering. Actively seek opportunities for professional development.
  • Prepare work schedules and allocate resources., as well as supervising sub-contractors. Ensure all work is delivered safety and follows safety by design principles.
  • Ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met.
  • Support the full lifecycle from engagement with new and existing clients and the supply chain to winning of new works, to design delivery and handover at practical completion.
  • Representing Integrum at national level, ensuring all enquires are handled in the appropriate manner and a positive image of the company is always maintained.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Electrical Engineering design experience or qualification
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline with, ideally, Engineering Technician or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • Have experience working in, or with, industry, preferably in a multi-disciplinary design, development and production environment, creating bespoke solutions.
  • Understanding of design engineering on projects in the railway and renewable energy industries and/or wider transmission & distribution sectors, or building services.
  • Ability to support in the quotation of new works using estimating software.
  • Willingness to support and or lead on project H&S processes and production of associated documentation, including hazard identification, designers risk assessment and method statements.
  • Outstanding self-reliance, resourcefulness and initiative, flexible approach and excellent time management.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
