We have an opportunity for an Active RF Engineer to join our AERO team based in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for carrying out the design, analysis and development of our Active RF and Microwave products for space applications based on our customer requirements and specification.

Active RF Engineer responsibilities

• Design, analysis and development of Active RF & Microwave products
• Transitioning products from engineering into production
• Product qualification i.e. performance, environmental, and safety
• Interpret customer requirements and specifications and develop solutions and test procedures to demonstrate compliance
• Assist in the definition, planning and management of projects for the design, development and manufacturing of Active RF & Microwave products
• Work with the sales team and technical managers to develop solutions to customer requirements
• Contribute to the technology roadmap for growing an Active RF & Microwave capability for Space applications
• Implement best practices to manage cost and risk in product development and product manufacturing

Qualifications

• Degree Qualified in a relevant discipline (Ideally physics) or extensive experience in Active RF Design
• Working experience as a microwave design engineer in either the space or defense sector
• Technical background in the design and development of Active RF & Microwave products
• Knowledge of microwave SSPA; circuit design, microwave electronics design and sub-system integration
• Experience of microwave design packages (CST, HFSS, Microwave Office)
• Experience of designing microwave electronics circuits suitable for operation in Space & Defence environment
