A leading UK developer, focused on creating vibrant and sustainable communities across London and the South of England, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the delivery of the residential two blocks. These blocks consist of 223 units across two cores of 21 and 16 storeys. The project is due for completion in January 2027 and is approximately 95% procured, with only landscaping and some S278 works outstanding.
This role requires hands-on package management, cost reporting, and the mentorship of a QS, graduate, and apprentice who are responsible for various work packages. You will report directly to the Managing Surveyor and take a leading commercial role in managing payments, costs, and financial performance on designated developments.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will subsequently take on responsibility for another scheme towards the end of 2025, a large-scale development consisting of over 500 units across multiple cores. This project is scheduled for completion in 2032.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate estimates, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place.
- Monitor site performance against original plans, budgets, and financial targets to ensure key milestones are met.
- Provide detailed cost reports and updates within deadlines, regularly communicating with internal teams such as Sales, Land, Construction, and Technical Architects.
- Take full ownership of surveying responsibilities on your developments, while supporting the wider Commercial team regarding financial status and profitability.
- Produce detailed reports and presentations, focusing on proactive and efficient project management.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the housebuilding industry.
- Minimum HNC in Building Studies; RICS qualifications or a degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with land appraisal software such as ‘Site stream’ or similar.
- Familiarity with current standards and building regulations, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- A self-motivated, proactive individual with strong attention to detail.
- Salary: Up to £85,000 + car allowance.
