As an experienced Design Engineer, you will be part of the Global Technical Organisation.

You will work within the Vehicle development team and with the wider cross functional team, to deliver new models on time, on budget and to meet specific performance requirements. You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality 3D CAD models, schemes and 2D drawings, using the PTC CREO platform, to support the vehicle development project teams.

You will work with cross-functional teams in Industrial Design, Product Development (Powertrain, Electrical, Vehicle Dynamics etc.), Manufacturing and Genuine Motorcycle Accessories but predominantly to deliver solutions to the Vehicle Development Engineering Teams which meet the requirements from all departments to progress to volume production.

Design Engineer Role:

•    Produce high quality 3D CAD models using PTC Creo.
•    Produce high quality 2D engineering drawings.
•    Follow CAD operating procedures and promote best practice in CAD modelling.
•    Follow the rules and guidelines of the PLM system.
•    Design systems and components for new and updated chassis projects, considering function,
•    cost, manufacturing process, assembly and quality.
•    Design components and systems to comply with regulatory requirements & RE internal test
•    procedures where needed.
•    Work with members of the Design Team to ensure models and drawings meet technical and
•    legislative requirements.
•    Work with members of the Design Team to ensure aesthetic requirements are met.
•    Manage workload effectively to ensure models and drawings are completed on time.
•    Provide CAD modelling guidance to other team members.

Design Engineer Requirements:

Essential:
•    Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
•    Proficient in producing 2D inspection drawings.
•    Proficient in the use of 3D 3+ years relevant experience in a similar role.
•    Experience in engineering design of assemblies and sub-assemblies.
•    In depth experience in 3D CAD design to advanced level.
•    Manufacturing knowledge (DFM/DFA)
•    Experience of creating and releasing 2D drawings.

Desirable:
•    PLM Experience
•    A CAD specific qualification
