Controls Engineer – Cumbria – In-house/End-User – Permanent – £50-55k + 9% matched pension + private health insurance + discounted gym membership
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Controls Engineer to work for a Cumbrian based specialist machine manufacturing company. One of the main aspects of the Controls Engineer role is PLC programming and fault-finding on existing PLC code – this is an essential requirement.
Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include –
- Support the engineering team with PLC & control system fault finding
- System/PLC faults are rectified and route cause identified
- Controls Engineer will have responsibility for site electrical drawings and schematics
- Support the engineering team in delivering Continuous Improvement projects and process improvements
- Assess risks in relation to control systems e.g. PLCs and necessary contingencies for failure or upgrade.
- Creation of new PLC programs and software updates when required
- Successful Controls Engineer will support the maintenance team in maintaining the plant and equipment to agreed standards
- COMPEX knowledge – desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics - desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
- 25 days holidays (includes 4 days to be taken at Christmas) + 8 Bank Holidays

The company is commutable from places in Cumbria such as Carlisle, Penrith, Keswick and Maryport.
