Senior Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steel

Location: Harrow, Greater London

Salary: Up to £80,000  

Information on the role

• Dealing with projects typically ranging from £250k - £5 million
• Reviewing and negotiating Contract conditions and Collateral Warranties with Clients.
• Develop initial project budgets from Estimating and agree detailed cost plan for agreement with the Project Team.
• Preparing Monthly Applications for Payment and subsequent negotiation of Client assessments to maximise cash flow
• Pricing variations in detail, typically due to changes to design and/or construction work
• Attending client and project meetings
• Working closely with the design team, site and project managers on the running of various contracts
• Continuous monitoring of project budgets, performance and costs from start to completion
• Create regular budget, price updates and monthly preparation of contract performance reports (CVR’s) for the Directors.
• Compile Cash-flow forecasts and work in progress reports (WIP) for the Financial Department.
• Procurement of specialist suppliers and Sub-Contractor Orders, including subsequent commercial management of their accounts.
• Negotiate and conduct settlement of Client and Sub-contractor Final Accounts alongside the Commercial Director.
• Dealing with Retentions / Collateral Warranties and Credit Control

What we’d like from you

• HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related subject
• Experience with Structural Steel / Metal / Steelwork/ Metalwork
• Self-motivated, friendly, sociable, and driven
• Full driving license
• Commercially aware
• Self-motivated personality
• Attention to detail with a right first-time attitude
• Organisation and time management skills
