We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join our Pupil Referral Unit in Waltham Forest on a long-term basis. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support and guidance in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
- Support students who have been excluded from mainstream education, helping them to reintegrate and achieve academic success.
- Foster a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the wider staff team, including teaching assistants and behavioural mentors, to develop students' social and emotional skills alongside academic progress.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support to students, parents, and staff.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Maths, ideally within a PRU or alternative provision setting.
- Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students with challenging behaviour.
- A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
- An understanding of the complexities of working in a PRU setting.
