Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial advice to the project team.
  • Drafting of early warning replies, compensation event notification reply’s, quotation reply’s, reply’s to proposed instructions, use of the general communication function, liaison with technical team on technical queries’ which have a commercial impact.
  • Ensure all contract timescales are being met by the project team (management of CEMAR)
  • Ensure the contract is being administered in accordance with the contract (Scope and term/conditions).
  • Lead the review of compensation events:     
  • In first instance does the PM accept the Contractor’s notified compensation event
  • Collate the comments from the project team on review of all Contractor’s quotations and prepare response on behalf of PM.
  • Lead the assessment of the application for payment and forecast to completion.
  • Support the weekly and monthly project progress meetings
  • Administer CEMAR at the weekly Early Warning meeting.
  • Lead the input of figures and supporting narrative for the monthly Project Management Review (PMR) meeting.
  • Attend weekly commercial meeting with Contractor.
  • Liaise with Client CEMAR Superuser for all access/delegation/user queries
  • Liaise with the Client commercial team for any queries and Learning from Experience.
  • Prepare any Defined Cost audit queries for the Auditor.
  • Provide pre contract support to the project team as and when required (population of invitation to tender documents, tender assessment spreadsheets and analysis of tender returns)

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a similar role or a suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role:
  • Understanding Contract Management such as NEC
  • Familiarisation with CEMAR
  • Support of Early Warnings and compensation events
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Excellent Organisation Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Security Cleared ( or ability to gain SC )
  • British National
