Our client is an award-winning accountancy firm dedicated to helping small businesses thrive throughout Devon. They now have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join them in their busy office in Exeter.

The Administrator role is responsible for all administrative aspect of the branch including being the first point of contact for clients, managing filing systems and controlling the workflow of client records through the business.  They are a paperless office (apart from client records) and work on a cloud server, so that all offices have access to the same information and systems. This is a core role within the company, ensuring all systems are up to date and all staff have access to the information that they require.

This is very much a support role and the successful candidate will not need to have accounts experience but ideally will have some experience of working within a professional services environment e.g. accountants, financial services, legal etc.

What you’ll be doing as their Administrator

Some of the tasks that this varied and interesting Administrator role will include:

  • Setting up new clients on their systems
  • Booking in client records
  • Telephones – dealing with calls to / from clients
  • Recording / scanning post
  • Petty cash
  • Sending mailshots
  • Meeting and greeting clients
  • Updating information on various database systems

It is important that you are able to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment. You will need to have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work calmly under pressure.

Additionally, as their Administrator you’ll need:

  • Excellent grammar and punctuation skills for composing a high standard of written correspondence
  • A good telephone manner and to be confidence dealing with clients on a face to face basis
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and work unsupervised
  • A keen eye for detail with good organisational skills
  • An excellent level of IT literacy including Excel and comfortable in learning new systems
  • Numerate with the ability to work with and understand figures

They Offer

  • Up to £27,000 per year, depending on experience

This Administrator job is a full time permanent position working 37.5 hours weekly, usually 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
