Job Opportunity: CNC Turner (Mazak) - Day Shift

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our client’s growing team based in Durham. This is a day shift role ideal for skilled professionals looking to work with high-quality precision parts and complex materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate Mazak CNC Lathes (18” and 10” chuck; non-barfeed).
  • Produce components to high standards, ensuring accuracy for small batch billet workpieces.
  • Select appropriate tooling for each task and inspect your own work.
  • Work independently on technical products with tight tolerances (+/- 0.01mm to +/- 0.25mm).
  • Adhere to safety procedures and complete necessary documentation, such as time sheets.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in billet work.
  • Strong engineering background with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in Mazak programming and CNC Mazak Lathes.
  • Ability to program at the machine control and inspect your own work.
  • Experience working with a wide range of materials (steel, stainless steel, superalloys).
  • Excellent communication skills and flexibility with shifts and overtime.

Shift Details:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:45am – 12:45pm

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate (£17.00 - £20.00 per hour, depending on experience).
  • Overtime at 1.5x standard rate, available most weeks.
