Commissioning Engineers - Job Summary:
We’re supporting our client, a family-owned, leading global machine tool manufacturer, their UK site is based in Staffordshire, and they are looking for Mechanical and Electrical (PLC) Commissioning Engineers to join their growing team. The successful Commissioning Engineers will have previous mechanical or plc programming experience in an industrial automation or automotive setting.

Responsibilities:
For Mechanical Commissioning Engineer:
- For the first initial 6 months, you will be training overseas (fortnightly visits to the UK on offer)
- Once you have completed training you will be on implementing your training on-site in West Midlands, after two years this will become a service role
- You will mechanically start up our assembly systems and production machines including automation systems
- To geometrically align our various systems and adjust and check them with precise measuring equipment
- Implementing NC-controlled machining processes, evaluating measurement results and making appropriate corrections in the NC program. Initiate assessments of machining results and changes to machining tools and cutting data
- Identifying mechanical problems on the machines, developing and implementing methodically appropriate solutions
- You will continuously carry out settings and functionality checks of the actors and sensors of machines and finish them off with a functionality test
- You will analyse and optimize the processes at our machine, recognize technical issues/ faults and develop solutions
About You:
- You must have a mechanical qualification in an engineering discipline
- You must be able to work as part of a team, collaborating for problem solving
- You must be prepared to spend 60 to 75% of your working time at the customer sites with your colleagues to successfully complete our projects (post-training)
For Electrical (PLC) Commissioning Engineer:
- For the first initial 6 months, you will be training overseas (fortnightly visits to the UK on offer)
- Once you have completed training you will be on implementing your training on-site in West Midlands, after 18 months on project site, this will become a service role (on a permanent basis of employment)
- You will start up our assembly systems for electric drive, battery and fuel cell production and oversee solutions for automation, as well as control-related functionality
- As a specialist within your field, you will configure controls, HMIs, bus systems and interfaces for sub systems
- You will contribute your expertise to the development of our control technology as well as our structures and young staff members
About You:
- You must have the knowledge you know how to deal with control-related challenges and how to implement solutions for automation
- You must be enthusiastic about PLC programming (Siemens / TIA Portal) and feel comfortable in the automotive industry as well as with their suppliers.
- You must have relevant software experience.
- You must have qualifications in an engineering discipline or wiring regulations
- You must be able to work as part of a team, collaborating for problem-solving
- You must be prepared to spend 60 to 75% of your working time at the customer sites with your colleagues to successfully complete our projects (post-training)
