Industrial Operations Engineer (12 months fixed term contract)

My client is a leading waste/recycling company who have the requirement for a qualified Engineer to lead and support all business units and other functions in Industrial Operations, including; Production, Maintenance, Health and Safety, Quality, Compliance and Projects across the business sites (UK).
Some of your responsibilities will be but not limited to; monitor, review, report and work actively taking action to optimise all of the company’s UK Business Unit operations and key performance indicators. In order to undertake this role you will have to; understand recycling and waste management activities; demonstrate technical knowledge of industrial equipment in an engineering discipline; demonstrate team work and engagement within a multidisciplinary team; work efficiently and effectively under strict reporting timelines whilst providing technical support and operational data; meet and discuss with potential new customers/suppliers for solutions in order to improve, innovate and increase efficiency in all operational aspects; work with partners and different stakeholders to achieve the Business Units Key performance indicators; assist in the creation and implementation of new investments and projects; optimize and develop all processes, activities, operations and projects taking into account all H&S, Quality and Compliance aspects; lead data reporting and develop goals for the optimisation and development of the BU’s teams and business growth ensuring they are met; provide technical support for all operations facilities or external customers, including projects and new investments; audit and provide review of processes and operations; deputise within the Industrial team’s activities and responsibilities as and when required.
In order to be considered for the role you will have; HND, BSc or MSc in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline; Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability; Excellent computer skills (MS Office, CAD, Maintenance software) with significant data handling and presentation skills; Superior communications skills at all levels, with customer engagement; Experience supporting operations and/or Engineering; Knowledge of recycling and waste industry; Able to read and understand technical content; Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations; Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment; Proven ability to operate in extreme high pressure situations, successfully handle multiple competing priorities and possess a high level of discipline while displaying a high degree of flexibility and professionalism; Experience in Continuous Improvement Process; 2-5 year of experience in Operations and/or Engineering, preferably working in Waste management; Experience of handling, collating and presenting operational data and KPI’s; IOSH managing safely; The role will require some travelling to the UK depots and customers/suppliers, with occasional travel to other European countries; Full UK driving licence.
