About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful primary school in Edmonton, N18. You will be working part-time, 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday), supporting a Year 5 boy with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs related to trauma. The child is currently working well below the national level, both academically and socially, and will need support to help him manage his emotions and stay engaged in learning.
As an SEN TA, your focus will be on creating a nurturing environment where he feels safe and supported. You'll help him build confidence, develop social skills, and provide targeted academic assistance to help him catch up with the curriculum. This role is ideal for an experienced SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about making a positive difference in children's lives."

Application Requirements:
• Previous experience as an SEN TA, LSA, or Behaviour Mentor working with children with SEMH or trauma-related needs.
• A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting students.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with both students and staff.
• A relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 5 student with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional, social, and academic development.
• Implement strategies to manage the student's behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Assist with tailored lesson plans and differentiated learning materials to meet the child's specific needs.
• Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as required.
• Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student to help him feel safe and engaged in the classroom.
