About your role of Approved Mental Health Practitioner:

 

  • Manage referrals, undertake assessments, and ensure that appropriate advice and information is given to clients and their carers.
  • Work creatively with the person and their carers to implement support plans that meet their needs.
  • Ensure a multi-agency approach is taken, to assess needs and manage risk and complexity.
  • Ensure referral for financial assessment.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and identify the need for further enquiry.
 

 

About you as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner:



  • Knowledge of Key legislative areas including:
    • Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 2008
    • Human Rights Act 1998
    • Care Act 2014
  • Experience of care act work such as hospital discharges essential
