Senior HSE Advisor

Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is currently seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join their team in Reading. The company supports customers across various markets including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage, making this a dynamic and exciting opportunity in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide coaching, mentoring and line management to safety advisors within the team
- Work closely with the existing Lead to provide strategic guidance to the HSE team
- Collaborate with the business' Regional HSE to ensure the project aligns with regional health and safety goals
- Provide support and guidance to project managers on all matters relating to HSE
- Ensure all work activities comply with company and site safety procedures, maintaining high standards of health & safety
- Promote a Safety First culture, delivering toolbox talks and safety-related training as required
- Track and report HSE performance in line with regional requirements
- Identify and develop initiatives to drive continuous improvement on the project
- Plan and conduct HSE audits, ensuring timely closeout of any actions
- Encourage safe card submission within the team, monitor submissions, and follow up on actions with relevant managers
- Ensure excellent communication with project management, the wider region, and client HSE representatives
- Provide HSE support to the region as required, including travel to other sites within the region
Job Requirements:
- NEBOSH & IOSH Qualifications
- Experience in health & safety management and engineering
- Proficiency in QHSE and HSE management practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in the construction industry
- Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or other heavily regulated industries
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance
