Job Purpose:
 
The Maritime Clerk of Works/Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction, repair, and maintenance of maritime infrastructure, ensuring all work adheres to project specifications, safety regulations, and high-quality standards. The role involves supervising the site, ensuring quality control, and coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project managers. Familiarity with NEC contract frameworks is preferred for smooth project execution. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is based in Glasgow and is initially a 10-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. The role falls outside IR35.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Site Supervision: Monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, safety standards, and conduct inspections to track progress and quality.
·NEC Contract Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with NEC contract terms, manage communication, handle compensation events, and support contract administration.
·Health & Safety: Enforce safety regulations and conduct site safety inspections, addressing any concerns promptly.
·Communication & Coordination: Liaise between contractors, project teams, and clients, providing technical guidance and attending regular site meetings.
·Reporting: Maintain detailed site records and prepare regular progress and issue reports.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
 
·Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, ideally with experience in marine infrastructure projects and knowledge of NEC contracts.
·Skills: Familiarity with maritime construction techniques, NEC contract administration, Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
 
Key Competencies:
 
·Expertise in marine construction and NEC contract clauses.
·Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication abilities.
·Proactive problem-solving approach.
 
Physical Requirements:
 
·Ability to work in challenging environments and conduct site inspections in maritime conditions.
 
Working Conditions:
 
·Site-based role with occasional work outside standard hours as required.
