Great opportunity to join our client as a Senior SHE Advisor based in Reading

Project/Department Overview
We are contracted for the design and build of a state-of-the-art facility near Reading. The scope of works for this project includes Programme Management, Construction, Building Services (M&E), Instrumentation and Control Systems, and various external works. This is an on-site role in Reading, Burghfield. Candidates must be able to obtain Security Clearance.

Job Description/Purpose
As the Senior SHE Advisor, you will support the Contract SHE functions, providing SHE solutions and enabling the Contract/Operational Teams to implement the SHE Management System. You will build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders, offering an independent and objective view of SHE performance on the contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and Influence: Assist the Contract Leadership Team, clients, and other stakeholders in compliance with the SHE Management System and Contract SHE Performance.
  • Training Delivery: Support and deliver training to enable the contract team to successfully implement the SHE Management System.
  • Coaching and Support: Guide the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in meeting the Contract SHE requirements.
  • Supply Chain Assessment: Participate in the ongoing assessment of the contracts Supply Chain Contractors.
  • Objective Delivery: Support the achievement of annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives.
  • SHE Assurance: Engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
  • Incident Investigation: Support the investigation of unplanned events and ensure the closeout of assurance findings, sharing lessons in accordance with the SHE Management System.
  • Data Reporting: Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to influence the Contract Leadership Team and develop data-based improvement plans.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential:

  • 3 years of SHE-related experience
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Tech IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Over 5 years of relevant SHE experience in the industry
  • NEBOSH Occupational Safety Diploma or Environmental Diploma or equivalent
  • Cert IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
