Finance Business Partner (Media)

Location: London (E1 1RH), Hybrid.
Salary: £60-65k, DOE.
Contract: Full time, permanent.- Starting February 2025

Finance Business Partner (Media) - Role Purpose:

The Finance Business Partner will support the Financial Controller in ensuring top-tier finance operations. The role will involve ensuring adherence to financial processes, providing business analysis, and delivering solutions if targets are missed.

It’s planned that this role with start in February 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

The role balances management/financial accounting with planning/analysis, requiring clear communication and analysis. It involves:

• Financial reporting for the Media Business Unit and business-wide planning/analysis, including investment cases and long-term forecasting.
• Creating and compiling monthly Board pack slides, adhering to strict deadlines.
• Supporting the Finance team with Budget and Forecast planning and presenting business metrics, KPIs, and financial data, including in PowerPoint presentations.
• Collaborating with the Financial Controller to ensure ledger accuracy and timely management reporting.
• Cash management and ensuring debts are settled within credit terms.

Other duties include:

• Month-end Xero posting, including reconciling journals, accruals, prepayments, and recharges.
• Preparing management accounts and conducting an analytical review of results.
• Maintaining accurate P&L postings and offering insights on variances.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Daily reporting on Snap and Facebook performance.
• Conducting monthly video profitability analysis.
• Maintaining Xero accounting data and ensuring reliable bank reconciliations.
• Assisting with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasts.
• Identifying and suggesting process improvements.
• Supporting the Managing Director of Media with ad-hoc duties.

Finance Business Partner (Media) - Skills & Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have strong organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills, along with effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Key competencies include creative thinking, adaptability, attention to detail, accountability, and a self-starting attitude.

Background and Experience:

• Post-qualified with proven accounting experience, ideally in a media business with a multi-entity/group structure.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Slides.
• ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent, with familiarity with UK GAAP.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills.

Bonus Points:

Experience managing or coaching junior team members is a plus.

Performance is assessed bi-annually through KPIs that measure skills and behaviour. Employees exceeding KPIs are rewarded and given advancement opportunities.

Key KPIs include:

• Revenue, accruals, prepayments, and recharges posted by day 3.
• Month-end closed and reviewed by day 4.
• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations completed by day 5.
• MI Pack preparation and commentary ready by day 7.
