IT Infrastructure Specialist - Azure

A fantastic opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join a fantastic, fast paced manufacturing business in Colchester, on a 3-month initial contract.
You will have hands-on experience in managing IT infrastructure, on-premise to cloud migrations, and providing high-level support to ensure seamless operations. This role will focus on Azure cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and server management, and you will also act as an escalation point for support teams.
Please note - This is a full-time onsite role, based in Colchester.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Prem to Azure Migrations: Execute the migration of applications, systems, and servers from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
System and Server Upgrades: Plan and implement upgrades to existing applications and server infrastructure to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
3rd Line Support: Provide expert-level 3rd line support to resolve complex technical issues and act as a final point of escalation for 1st and 2nd line teams.
System Setup and Configuration: Lead investigations and configuration tasks related to system setup to ensure optimal performance and troubleshooting.
Azure Infrastructure Management: Manage Azure infrastructure including server creation, configuration, and maintenance to support the organization’s cloud-based operations.
Virtualization Management: Oversee the management and configuration of virtual environments including Hyper-V and VMWare for optimal performance and resource allocation.
Exchange Online: Manage and support Exchange Online email environments for business continuity.

- Proven experience in on-prem to Azure migration projects.
- Strong understanding of server and application upgrades and patch management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, with experience in IT project management methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of providing 3rd line support and being an escalation point for support teams.
- Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, including server creation, configuration, and management.
- Expertise in Hyper-V and VMWare for managing virtualized environments.
- Experience with Exchange Online administration.
