The Role:

This is a unique stand-alone HR Manager role (with the support of an HR assistant) where you will be responsible for all aspects of HR, from driving recruitment strategies across the UK, Germany, and the USA to advising senior leadership on people strategies. You’ll ensure HR policies not only comply with UK legislation but also reflect best practices tailored to our creative, fast-paced environment. You will also take a lead role in enhancing our employee branding, ensuring we attract, engage, and retain top-tier talent through creative and consistent messaging.

Additionally, you will oversee monthly payroll management, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time, while also handling any payroll-related queries.

Whether you're leading recruitment efforts, enhancing employee engagement, managing payroll, or crafting a compelling employee value proposition, you'll be at the heart of the business, helping to shape and nurture our talent.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead HR Operations: Handle day-to-day HR functions, including employee relations, talent management, performance reviews, and coaching managers on best practices, managing HR processes and procedures.
  • Employee Branding: Develop and execute an employee branding strategy that strengthens our reputation as an employer of choice. Collaborate with marketing to ensure a consistent and engaging message across all touchpoints (e.g., careers page, social media, job ads).
  • Recruitment: Manage recruitment strategies across the UK, Germany, and USA, ensuring we attract top talent through creative recruitment channels that highlight our company culture and brand.
  • Policy Management: Keep our employee handbook and HR policies up-to-date and compliant with the latest legislation, while also ensuring they align with our business goals.
  • Learning & Development: Identify training needs and work closely with managers to foster a culture of continuous development.
  • Employee Relations: Manage ER cases from start to finish, including grievances, disciplinaries, and flexible working requests, with a focus on fairness and coaching for managers.
  • Performance Management: Oversee appraisals and performance reviews, ensuring they are both motivational and aligned with business objectives.
  • Monthly Payroll Management: Work with our finance team to ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll for all employees, resolving any payroll queries as needed.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate closely with senior leadership to influence HR strategy and support business goals.
  • International Exposure: Be responsible for managing the full recruitment process for the UK, EU and the USA
  • HR Data Management: Maintain employee records and provide accurate reports on key metrics like sickness absence, engagement, performance, and payroll.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced HR Professional: CIPD qualified (or working towards it) with substantial experience in operational HR within an SME or creative agency.
  • Employee Branding & Recruitment: You have a track record in creating or enhancing employee branding initiatives, and experience recruiting across the UK, Germany, and internationally.
  • Payroll Management: Experience in managing monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and resolving any payroll-related issues.
  • Change Agent: You have the drive to lead change and improve HR processes, while being sensitive to our company culture.
  • Skilled Influencer: You can confidently advise senior stakeholders and line managers, backing up your recommendations with data and evidence.
  • Adaptable & Hands-On: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can balance strategic and operational tasks with ease.

Bonus Points for:

  • European Language Recruitment: You have experience managing recruitment for roles that require European language skills (e.g., German, French) for positions based in the UK or the USA
  • Proficiency in MAC systems (though not essential).
