One of the leading conservation specialists in London and the South East of England are looking for a Site Manager.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most notable landmarks, including Grade-listed buildings, scheduled monuments, World Heritage Sites, parochial churches, country estates, and modest memorials. Services include stone conservation, facade cleaning, graffiti removal, statue protection, historic flooring, joinery, leadwork, brickwork, copper, zinc, and steel work, decorative surfaces, mosaics, and much more.
 
Site Manager Role Overview:
 
As a Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our restoration and heritage projects. Working closely with the Projects Manager/Contracts Manager, you will ensure the efficient and profitable execution of our work, managing the day-to-day activities on-site, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, and upholding our high standards of quality and safety.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily site activities, ensuring all work is carried out according to specifications, drawings, and method statements. Ensure all operatives are properly briefed on their tasks.
  • Coordinate and control subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with the Projects Manager/Contracts Manager.
  • Implement and enforce the company’s Health & Safety and Quality Management policies, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Act as a key point of contact with clients, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project-related correspondence, including valuing works, keeping detailed records, and informing the Project Manager/Contracts Manager of relevant matters.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to support the efficient servicing of the project and the effective dissemination of information.
  • Facilitate communication and discipline among the on-site workforce and project management team.
  • Always promote the best interests of the company and undertake additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Line Manager.
What we need from a Site Manager:
  • A strong background in restoration, heritage, or masonry, with hands-on experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, specifications, and drawings.
  • Proven experience in managing health and safety standards on-site and compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to maintain accurate project records and manage project correspondence efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of coordinating site teams and fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Relevant Construction related qualification i.e. NVQ 6
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • SMSTS certification

  • Competitive salary up to £60,000 with discretionary bonuses, usually around £10,000 per annum (This figure can be higher or lower depending on performance).
