There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Group Head Office division based in Newcastle Upon Tyne is looking to recruit a Commercial Systems and Processes Assistant to join the Commercial department.

The Role

The role of Commercial Systems & Processes Assistant provides a range of support with Commercial Systems, whilst supporting the Commercial team.

Principal accountabilities of the Commercial Administrator role include:

Support the enhancement of Commercial Systems through participation in upgrade delivery.

Support testing of COINS, principal Bellway Commercial System product and associated systems / software changes / upgrades as directed by the Head of Commercial Systems.

Contribute to the effective administration and Implementation of Group Commercial policies.

Use best practice and system functionality knowledge to support development with Group Commercial Processes, as directed.

Support in the rollout of new/revised Group Commercial policies and processes. 

Provide Commercial support on the COINS platform to Group Commercial , Group Support function and Divisions.

Support training material revisions / changes in line with Commercial Policy / Software updates 

Deliver training and skills transfer to users including; new starters, on system enhancements, changes, coupled with providing regular refresher training as deemed necessary.

Support the Head of Commercial Systems to maintain all standard documentation both off-line, within the COINS platform and all associated systems including local intranet.

Be an active contributor to the wider Group Commercial team.

Become a super user for Construction workbench allowing for Commercial / Construction support and knowledge transfer with other users.

Complete internal system configuration in line with requirements

Complete pro-active Divisional data checks and assist divisions to apply fixes where required.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

Experience of working in a Commercial Role ideally an assistant surveyor or Buyer and for a house-building/construction organisation.

Robust understanding and knowledge gained through use of COINS including budget management & CVRs.

Experienced with data analysis and Excel.

Skills and Aptitude

Drive and determination to achieve results and get things right.

Ability to develop a good understanding of the commercial needs of the business (especially during a period of change).

Ability to work on own initiative.

Strong communication, listening and presentation skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Methodical, conscientious, organised and works to deliver high standards.

Keen eye for detail.

The ability problem solve, build & support solutions and execute solutions in a speedy and effective manner.

Ability to work within a team & build strong relationships.

Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced & ever changing environment.

Demonstrates the ability to problem solve and prioritise tasks with deadlines taken into consideration. 

IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems within the technical environment.

Ability to pass on knowledge & support business training needs delivering and supporting classroom training / one-to-one skills transfers / online presentations (Teams).

Task orientated, with a focus on getting things done within agreed timescales.

Enthusiastic and positive team player.

The Role and Working Conditions

Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked.

Office based role with regular travel to Regional & divisional offices for both meetings & team working (this will include periods of time away during the week)

There is a requirement for one weekend of working per year (this time will be returned in lieu).
