Major Recruitment are currently looking for Steel Operative / Overhead Crane Operator in the Dudley area
Rotating shift patters:
£12.58 6am till 2pm and 2pm till 10pm
£13.58ph 10pm till 6am
Overtime:
First 2 hours overtime on weekdays = £15.48ph
Anything from 2 hours to 4 hours overtime on weekdays = £17.37ph
First 4 hours on a saturday £17.37ph
Anything over 4 hours on a Saturday £23.16ph
Duties and Responsibilities:
Floop Operator
- This is the Start of the manufacturing process.
- Using an overhead crane to load steel coils onto a mandrel and feed it into the rolling mill - Crane certification required in house course will be undertaken
- When the coil comes to an end, load another onto the mandrel and spot weld them together, this process continues throughout
- Recording of coils that are loaded and consumed throughout the shop floor computer system
(All training on overhead cranes will be provided for this part of the role)
- Operate Uncoiler, Flattener, Shear Welder, and Accumulator
- Load steel coil into uncoiler, sheer/weld new coil to previous one, and keep line moving
- Alert to quality issues
- Read and correctly use a measuring tape, micrometer, and caliper
Skills and Experience required:
- 1-2 year's industrial manufacturing experience
- Welding experience
- Mechanically inclined
- Effective communication reading, speaking, writing English
- Physically able to stand and walk for long periods of time, perform repetitive lifting 30lbs-50lbs, overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling
