Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons, foster a supportive classroom environment, and encourage a deep appreciation for literature and language.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher you will:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the secondary curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English department and share best practices.
  • Foster a love for reading and writing through innovative teaching methods.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Execute fantastic communication skills when engaging with parents, student and members of staff.

Hours - Standard working hours 8.30am-4pm (times may vary).


Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • An undergraduate degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience of working within a similar role
  • Evidence of, and commitment to, continuing professional development
  • A relevant degree or higher degree qualification

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
