Shipping and Logistics Manager

£35,000 - £40,000/annum

Our client, a very successful recycling company are looking to recruit a Shipping and Logistics Manager to their busy office in Reading. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To communicate with customers and suppliers and manage the inbound and outbound bookings to and from our warehouses.
  • To ensure materials are adequately receipted and both received and released for packing in line with shipping schedules.
  • To ensure successful planning and completion of shipments through communication with client and operations department. This includes managing shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading.
  • To take responsibility for customer charging/internal charging and job costing
  • To report to the Management team on customer KPI's, service level agreements and financial targets
  • To work with the Transport Department, 3rd Party Carriers and delivery points to manage incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • To offer excellent customer service to the client.

Key Requirements:

  • Functional experience within the logistics sector, especially export documentation

  • Excellent communication skills, including negotiation skills and ability to manage non-standard requirements and situations.

  • Client focused.

  • Strong administration skills and highly organised.

  • Ability to follow processes and develop new processes where appropriate.

  • Assertive and able to make decisions.

  • Able to show initiative and solve problems.

  • Good analytical skills and excel proficiency.
