Assistant Site Manager 

Location: Ixworth, IP31 2HS

Salary: £23,500-£23,893 per annum(FTE)

Hours: Permanent, 27.5 hours a week Term time plus 3 weeks

Ixworth school is a small high school set in the picturesque Suffolk countryside. They are over-subscribed and will have around 600 pupils in the school by September 2024.  The school enjoys a positive reputation in the community, as evidenced by the high demand for Year 7 places in September 2024. The students demonstrate respect, motivation and very good behaviour in their learning.  

The school's vision is to provide an education system that truly serves those it educates by always reflecting on and addressing individual needs, strengths, and interests. There is a Specialist Resource Base on site for around 12 pupils, supporting pupils with Communication & Interaction needs.  

The school is currently a “good” school according to Ofsted, with an inspection from September 2019.

The Role

You will be responsible for the good order and maintenance of the school site and grounds under the direction of the Site Manager. This includes undertaking maintenance, caretaking, cleaning standards and general well-being of the school and school grounds. 

In addition, the successful candidate should be able to carry out minor repairs, improvements and decoration of the school site, including during the school holidays. 

The role includes maintaining the grounds in a clean and tidy condition, including sweeping and clearing litter and leaves, and attending to flower beds and plants. 

There is a responsibility for site security and the successful candidate will need to open and/or close the school at designated times and check that all is in order and, to act as a nominated alarm contact for the school.
