anzuk education is currently looking for a School Caretaker to work full time in a Primary School based in Newport. The role is for the full academic year.

The school is easily accessible to any car driver, or anyone in based in the Newport area and is looking for someone immediately.

About the role:

As a Caretaker you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and security of the school premises and ensuring that the school environment is safe and comfortable for students, staff, and visitors. You will require an enhanced DBS for this role.

A background in Health and Safety/COSHH training is highly desirable for this role, although the school will consider any applicant with experience in maintenance. You will ideally have experience in a school setting and an awareness in Mechanics, Electrics or Repairs is essential.

Your Key Responsibilities as a Care Taker will be:

• Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the school buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Conducting regular inspections of the school premises to identify and report any issues or hazards.
• Performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Ensuring that the school is secure and safe, including locking and unlocking the school buildings.
• Coordinating with external contractors and vendors as necessary.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of facilities for school events.

Salary and hours:

You can expect a daily rate of £90 for this role.

The hours for this role is Monday - Friday 10:30am - 5:00pm. As you will be the sole key holder for the building there is an expectation for you to be available for emergencies. You will be paid for any emergency call outs.
