Have you ever wanted to work within the civil service? Are you confident in your administration skills? If so, then please read on as we are looking for Clerical/ Admin officer to work in York.

UKSV will be undergoing a lengthy process of revamping our library, this will involve moving a large amount of paper files for shredding. The tasks to be undertaken require a large amount of manual handling - working at height, lifting weight, bending, twisting, pushing heavy loaded trolleys. This role will also require the use of a computer to accurately record the movement of each paper file.

We are therefore looking for people with the following skills/attributes:

  • Preferably someone with previous experience of manual labour or has completed a Manual Handling/Health & Safety course
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft packages or Google Suite)
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
  • Comfortable with the physical demands of a role such as lifting and standing for long periods
