Profile:

Laboris Solutions are pleased to be working with a long term client at the forefront of developing industry leading products within an exciting sector. This is for a "hands on" engineer who enjoys working with some of the top engineers in the industry where you will be pushing the limits of innovation. 

Requirements

  • At least five years’ experience of product development in an industrial setting
  • Breadth of technical knowledge in both hardware and software development,
  • Strong theoretical knowledge in electronics and computer science
  • Experience of developing products for industrial applications,
  • Practical and dynamic
  • Experience ranging from working on challenging projects with autonomy, to operating as part of a team employing development methodologies (e.g. Agile).
  • Able to lead projects:
  • Relevant project management or operational experience,
  • Experience of supporting product introduction and production is an advantage

Education:

Educated to degree or masters level in electronic engineering, computer science or other relevant engineering or applied science discipline. Ideally graduated with a 2.1 or higher from Russell Group university. 

Technical skills:

  • C, C++, C# - programming firmware, microcontrollers, DSP and processors Linux, Windows Altium, EasyPC, OrCAD, SolidWorksPower over Ethernet, Bluetooth, WIFI, GSM, 3G, Mesh networking
  • Use of GIT for version and revision control of software development is a must
  • Firmware & embedded systems from components to microcontrollers and ASIC/FPGA/SoC through to entire systemsSensors, sensor networks, wireless networksReal time location systems (RTLS)
  • Design and development of analogue and RF electronics Operating over a broad range of frequencies from 1 GHz to 8 GHz
  • Development of products from concept through to production. Ideally sensor solutions, or industrial internet of things (IIOT),
  • Capable of putting prototype systems together quickly. 
  • Capable of optimising algorithms and code to produce a high-performance system. 
  • Design and development of wireless devices (e.g. sensor networks), including Bluetooth, GSM, 3G, WiFi, industrial Bluetooth, wireless HART.
  • Development of products for harsh environments and certification, e.g. IECEx, ATEX, DNV-GL etc.
