SEN Teacher Needed for PPA Cover - Autism Unit - Lambeth

A SEN Teacher is urgently needed to provide PPA cover in a primary school's Autism unit based in the borough of Lambeth. This part-time role will cover classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays, making it ideal for those seeking a better work-life balance.

The class consists of 8-10 primary-aged students with Autism, supported by 3-4 experienced LSAs. The school is Ofsted rated 'Good', and is located near an underground station with excellent transport links, just a short walk from the station.

Key Responsibilities for the SEN Teacher:

• SEN Teacher to deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students with Autism during the class teacher's PPA time.
• Collaborate with LSAs to ensure each child receives the necessary support to meet their educational and social goals.
• Foster a supportive and structured environment for students, helping them progress academically and socially.
• Implement and adapt lesson plans in line with the needs of each student's EHCP.

Requirements for the SEN Teacher:

• Previous experience teaching children with Autism in an educational setting is essential.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to work closely with LSAs to support students with complex needs.
• A positive, patient approach to teaching, with a clear understanding of Autism and related learning strategies.
• Valid DBS on the update service or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
