Pin Point are currently recruiting for an Audio Quality Support Engineer for a Emmy award wining speaker manufacturer based near Luton. Their speakers are used by recording artists and studios all over the world such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, the BBC. As well as being used for music production on films and TV shows including Mission Impossible, Game of Thrones, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more.

If you are someone who has a passion for audio and has experience within this area, you would be part of the Quality and Production Engineering team responsible for Manufacturing Engineering support, Customer Quality inspection, audits, and final audio test support activities.

Audio Quality Support Engineer Role Responsibilities:

  • Part of the team for quality control of incoming and outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Development of Skills in CAD / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering for loudspeaker design, manufacturing processes, and acoustic principles. Development of Listening skills through detailed customer focussed inspections, audits, and final sign off for outgoing products.
  • Documentation of inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising re-work and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
  • Ensuring that Audio testing is carried out in production correctly.
  • Keeping measurement & audio test equipment operating by following operating instructions, maintaining calibration records.
  • Maintaining, updating, and reviewing QC procedures and returns policies.
  • Supporting the Quality Manager to resolve Production and Supplier related Quality issues.
  • Aiming to improve quality standards and continually offering suggestions where appropriate.
  • Producing inspection audit reports to identify quality problems within the manufacturing process.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Travel to and sites based in Luton and Sandy.
  • Travel abroad every 2-3 months for supplier meetings.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Audio Quality Support Engineer Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Passport
  • An interest or experience of audio and music technology.
  • Willingness to develop listening skills and excellent hearing.
  • An ability to carefully follow procedures.
  • An exceptional eye for detail.
  • Electronics and Audio testing knowledge and principles (audio circuits and components). Experience with Audio Analysers desirable.
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings and electronic schematics.
  • Experience of inspection measurement tools such as callipers and gauges.
  • Good Computer Skills – Microsoft Windows 10, Excel, Word, MRP (SAP B1) knowledge and experience.
  • Good communication skills and able to summarize issues accurately.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Driving license / transport – Travel between production sites in Luton and Sandy will be required.
  • Self-motivation, able to take notes and willing to learn new skills.
  • Understanding the importance of working as a team.
  • A positive representation of the business.
  • Office based 5 days a week

Audio Quality Support Engineer Desirable:

Experience or knowledge of BSEN ISO 9001:2005 Quality Management Systems
