£50,000 - £55,003/annum

Straight-Line Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on a HS2 site in Carlisle.

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

Preparation of project financial reports

Preparing bill of quantities, budgeting, and cost control for projects

Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations

Managing and negotiating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress, cost, quality etc

Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met

Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry

Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)

Experience working with bridges and reinforced concrete

Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying

Strong knowledge of heavy civils processes and industry best practices

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Excellent numeracy & IT skills, including competence in relevant software applications (Bluebeam/CAD/excel etc.)

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Valid driving licence
The job is a permanent site-based position starting in Carlisle.

The salary is £50-55k per annum and will include a company car. This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience.
