All About the Role

Based at our Barrett Steel, Bristol site, the purpose of this role is to carry out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area. This is a multi- drop role, and the hours are

Monday to Friday 6am – 3.45 pm plus overtime when required

Specific tasks include:

• To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
• Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
• To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices during the shift.
• To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
• Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
• Limited manual handling, within company guidelines.
• Adherence to all required health and safety standards at all times both on and off the premises
• Support the warehouse staff when needed
• All related duties and paperwork

All About You

Essential Skills for the role:

• To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
• Own an up-to-date Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
• Knowledge of working time directive and compliant with driver’s hours rules and regulations.
• Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business.
• Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
• Multi-Drop experience
• Ability to complete manual handling and loading, within company guidelines.
