£35,000 - £44,000/annum

Based in East London – Full time (35 hours across 5 days)
£35,000 - £44,000 (depending on experience/qualifications)

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons, supporting learner progression across functional skills English.
  • Track learner progression and keep learner records up to date
  • Use a range of assessment methods and provide prompt feedback to inspire learners
  • Work towards learner retention and qualification achievement rate
  • Find innovative and effective ways to prepare learners for examinations
  • Promote safety, wellbeing and safeguarding

About you

  • Hold Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2) and relevant subject degree
  • Hold Teaching Qualification (advantage if Level 5)
  • Proven ability to embed English skills and thinking into vocational and industry settings
  • Previous experience and success teaching English to FE students or in a similar educational setting (apprentices, adult learners)
  • Assertive and confident in learning environment management
  • Ambitious and committed to meeting targets, setting standards of behaviour and work
  • Empathetic and have excellent communication skills
