Precision Machinist – Thorne – Immediate Start – Days Only – c£30k

We are working with a growing engineering parts supply company who seek to appoint a Conventional Grinder / Precision Machinist with experience of manual grinding (Surface, Cylindrical and/ or Bore) to tight tolerances.

The successful CNC / Manual Grinder / Precision Machinist day to day duties will include: Surface grinding of high precision gauging and tooling associated with splines and gears for the automotive and aerospace industries working to extremely tight tolerances.

In this role you will set / operate manual surface grinding machines ensuring production issues are resolved quickly efficiently and that production KPI’s are met. You will also comply with company H&S guidelines.

To be suitable for this CNC / Conventional Grinder / Precision Machinist role will ideally have most or all of the following experience:- Ideally completed a relevant machining, toolmaker or engineering apprenticeship and have recent experience of CNC / manual surface, cylindrical and or bore grinding to very tight tolerances An ability to use standard manual measuring devices such as verniers, DTI’s, calipers, micrometers, plain plug, screw and ring gauges, gauge blocks and bespoke gauges/fixtures is highly desirable.
