Confident, Production Planner/Expeditor immediately required for successful manufacturing company based near Dudley

Working with a production costing between £3-4 million pounds, the role will be reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager Forecasting, Scheduling, Making Decisions, Planning and Material Control for the business.

Other main duties of the role are:

  • Planning and scheduling: Planning and organising the production of a company's products.
  • Co-ordination between sales, design / production to ensure customer deliveries are achieved.
  • Identifying issues: Detecting and resolving issues as they arise
  • Improving processes: Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Communicating: Working with other employees and suppliers to ensure the production process runs smoothly
  • Reporting: Creating status and performance reports and presenting them to managers
  • Complying with regulations: Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and workplace legislation
  • Estimate project needs for manpower, equipment, and raw materials
  • Manage project paperwork
  • Ensure that correct robust data is recorded onto the MRP system
  • Managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production and monitoring the production process for problems
  • Responsible for daily upkeep of databases, expediting workloads from the technical office, for on time delivery / issuing.
  • Correct planning of the production facility capacities.
  • Responsibility for managing the NCR’s planning and correct data recording against the correct sales order number.

The right candidate must

  • Be an experienced production planner
  • Have strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory responsibility in a metal working / fabrication shop environment.
  • Be able to read technical drawings.
  • I.T. literacy is essential, with experience of Microsoft Word / Excel, must be conversant with production scheduling / MRP software.
