We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Banbury. In this role, you will be responsible for producing detailed 2D drawings and creating assembly instructions from 3D models, working closely with our development and site engineers to ensure high-quality designs that meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use SolidWorks to create accurate 2D drawings and assembly instructions based on 3D models provided by development engineers.
  • Ensure all designs comply with UK, EU, and USA drafting standards, including BS EN ISO and ASME Y14.5.
  • Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precise component specifications.
  • Collaborate with site engineers to verify design intent and ensure that drawings reflect final product specifications.
  • Review and modify designs based on feedback from the engineering team.
  • Maintain an organised system for managing drawings and technical documentation.
  • Stay current with SolidWorks updates and best practices in mechanical design.
  • Assist in developing clear assembly instructions for production teams in the UK and USA.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and drafting standards (BS EN ISO, ASME Y14.5).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
