NXTGEN are delighted to be working with a highly respected and growing firm in Bury St Edmunds to recruit a Senior Payroller. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive team in a firm that truly values both its people and clients. Due to increasing demand from new and existing clients, your portfolio will be tailored to your skills, strengths, and the types of clients you are best suited to work with.

As the new Senior Payroller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services to a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to larger organisations. This is a hands-on position, where you'll manage all end to end payroll duties, whilst helping clients to streamline their payroll processes and maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll duties for a portfolio of clients
  • Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls, ensuring all statutory deductions and auto-enrolment deadlines are met
  • Handle payroll queries and provide excellent customer service to your clients
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation, ensuring full compliance
  • Work closely with the team to continuously improve payroll systems and processes

What our client is looking for:

  • Previous experience in end-to-end payroll, either within a bureau environment or industry, with a requirement for large payroll experience if coming from an industry background.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and statutory requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills to build client relationships and provide support to colleagues
