Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a thriving private award-winning house developer who are based in Exeter who are looking for a Technical Manager to join their Southwest team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to lead the technical department and oversee all aspects of technical delivery.

Due to continual growth within the company an opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to take the reins of the technical team and oversee all technical aspects of residential new build construction projects. You will lead from the front, coordinating design processes, securing approvals, ensuring compliance and collaborating with the wider team to deliver sites on time and budget.

Duties:

  • Oversee the Technical Departments day to day running of projects 

  • You will be reporting into the head of technical  

  • Lead and mentor the technical department, ensuring all technical information is available and of a high standard and cost-effective 

  • Monitor and control technical budget, mitigating risk 

  • Value engineer developments, ensuring cost savings are highlighted 

  • Regular liaison with land and planning to review up and coming developments 

  • Assist and advise technical teams to achieve relevant approvals 

  • Ensure all projects comply with building regulations / NHBC standards 

  • Assist the Head of Technical monitoring/scheduling section agreements/ bonds 

  • Implement and maintain technical standards 

What you will need: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical role within the housebuilding industry 

  • HNC/Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field 

  • UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction standards – Comprehensive understanding required 

  • Experience of AutoCAD or similar software design 

  • UK Driving Licence 

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant technical software
