This is position is for a fixed duration of 12 months working PAYE.

Our client is seeking a talented Infrastructure / Platform Engineer to join their talented support team to support BAU platform activities across a Windows cloud estate.

A busy and enjoyable role working with 8 other 3rd line Platform Engineers to support a busy and productive IT estate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Support: Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line IT support, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues. Focus on finding the root cause and implementing permanent solutions.
• Platform Expertise: Work with Windows (or Linux) platforms, with a willingness to deepen knowledge in both.
• Visualisation & Storage: Administer visualisation technologies and storage arrays.
• Patch Management & Backup: Manage patching processes using software like SCCM or Intune, and handle backup concepts and software.
• Incident Management: Use commercial Incident, Problem, and Change management tools
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incident resolutions. Provide regular reports as needed.

Experience:

• • Demonstrable experience in 2nd or 3rd line IT support.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows platforms.
  • Familiarity with public cloud environments
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, VxRail, Nutanix).
  • Experience with storage arrays (Dell Compellent, HPE Nimble).
  • Experience with patch management software
  • Knowledge of backup concepts and software.
  • Experience with Dell and HP server hardware.
  • Proficiency in Shell and PowerShell scripting.
  • Endpoint protection and anti-virus management experience (SentinelOne).
  • Experience with commercial incident, problem, and change management tools (BMC Remedy, Halo preferred).
