£40.90 - £54.15/hour Per diem also available for travellers over 30 miles
Rates: £54.15 UMB or £40.90 PAYE per hour - For each day travelled to site, a £100 per diem Umbrella/£85.80 per diem PAYE is payable to workers travelling more than 30 miles to site (taxable).
Shifts: 11 on 3 off 
Hours: 11 per day
 
Main Purpose:
The role exists in order to develop and implement site quality arrangements across all aspects of site activities (e.g. Installation, Commissioning, Operations) in support of the overall project lifecycle.
 
The Site Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that activities (e.g. audits) are undertaken to establish the implementation status of the above arrangements and the reporting of such information.
 
The Site Quality Engineer will also undertake specific activities on behalf of the Quality function as required.
 
Key Result Areas:
  • Developing and implementing site quality arrangements.
  • Proactively supporting and advising on all aspects of quality on site, including risks and issues.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
  • As required, ensuring quality requirements are defined and implemented as part of the site induction and training process.
  • Establishing effective communication channels with Customers (internal and external) and Suppliers.
  • Developing and implementing appropriate auditing arrangements associated with site activities, both internally and externally (e.g. Suppliers).
  • Ensuring any site quality non conformances / issues are managed and closed out.
  • Ensuring Supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and approved / acceptance in accordance with site / project requirements, including Customer approvals.
  • Monitoring progress against the site quality arrangements, identifying areas of concern to the overall project and where necessary escalate to Line Management.
  • Liaising with Customers to understand their requirements / expectations for quality assurance, quality control and inspection.
  • Review of enquiry, tender and contract documentation with respect to customers’ quality requirements and contract specifications, identifying any site specific requirements which fall outside the company quality system.
  • Undertake quality planning, including the preparation of the site quality documentation and as required the writing of site specific procedures / local working instructions. The inclusion of health, safety and environment aspects should be considered in drafting the site quality documentation.
  • Liaison with site subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that the quality and specification requirements are understood.
  • Review of purchase requisitions / purchase orders for quality requirements input.
  • Participation in site / project meetings and contract review / handover meetings.
  • Ensuring the requirements for site lifetime records are clearly identified and that such records are prepared and maintained, including all relevant review and approval activities, concurrently with site activities.
  • Carrying out supplier assessments.
  • Carry out oversight surveillance of installation, testing and commissioning activities in line with site Inspection & Test Plans and associated completions check sheets.
 Knowledge:
  • Good working knowledge of the Nuclear industry and Nuclear License Conditions.
  • Good working knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements
  • Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of site construction completions systems e.g. OCCMS.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Practices.
 Experience:
  • Have experience of Nuclear Construction Site Work.
  • CSCS card holder
  • Experience of Drafting ITP’s and construction Installation, Test & Commissioning check sheets.
 Skills:

  • Computer literate with experience in using software packages relevant to the role e.g. word, excel, outlook, internet, etc.

  • Continually seeks to improve working practice, performance and productivity.
  • Actively promotes health and safety.
  • Ensures that procedures are consistently applied across projects.
Other:
  • Ideally be qualified to a HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. engineering.
Have valid inspection certificates e.g. (CSWIP, C&G, PCN).
