Tradewind are working with a special school in Erdington which provide specialist support or secondary-aged pupils with a range of needs, including: Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and innovative Special Needs Teacher to join our team. You will:

• Deliver personalised and engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with MLD, ASC, SLD, and SEMH.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to provide a consistent, supportive learning experience.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and communication methods, including visual aids, sensory tools, and assistive technology.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where pupils feel confident and encouraged to participate.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual learning goals.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with pupils with MLD, ASC, SLD, and/or SEMH is preferred.
• A strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques.
• A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and the emotional well-being of all pupils.
