They are a well-established and reputable Midlands based, construction contractor known for delivering high-quality infrastructure and water maintenance projects all over the Midlands. Their commitment to growth and innovation, along with their robust project pipeline, ensures stable and long-term employment for their team.

They are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead our site operations under the prestigious Severn Trent contract, with an exciting and varied workload ahead.

The Role
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day management of construction projects under our Severn Trent Water contract. This includes ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will lead a skilled team, manage subcontractors, and liaise closely with clients and project stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage construction activities across sites under the Severn Trent contract, ensuring compliance with specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and to budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and environmental compliance.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and method statements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client and stakeholder communications, resolving any issues that arise on-site.
  • Lead regular site meetings and progress reviews, providing clear updates on project timelines and any deviations from the program.
  • Manage materials, equipment, and resources efficiently to meet project demands and deadlines.
  • Ensure all site records, reports, and documentation are maintained accurately and submitted on time.
  • Drive continuous improvement on-site by identifying areas for innovation, cost savings, and performance enhancements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager in the construction sector, ideally within water, utilities, or civil engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage multiple teams and subcontractors effectively.
  • Knowledge of Severn Trent Water processes and water industry regulations (preferred).
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and environmental best practices.
  • Hold a valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate and CSCS card.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing project demands and deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving License.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with water network construction or rehabilitation projects.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
  • Familiarity with Severn Trent Water's operational procedures and standards.
