What happened to good, honest companies where decent people come together and produce great work without any fuss?

Now you can’t get through an advert without hearing about prestigious clients, award winning projects and other ridiculous superlatives which probably hold no weight. 

Well, I’m going back to basics on this one.  This is a good company, full of hardworking and honest people who do their best for their clients and each other.  They work on various projects including planned and cyclical maintenance, restorations, fit outs, refurbishments and new builds, with a sweet spot of around £100,000 to £6m in project value – though they have been know to work out of these parameters. 

Some of their projects can be “glamorous”, others not so much, but what they do focus on is making money on projects and ensuring their people are motivated to deliver.  And in a volatile market, sustainability is a great comfort when joining a business.

We are looking for a Design Manager to join this Essex based contractor and help to steer projects through to successful delivery by effectively managing the development of design, preparing the design programme, foreseeing and resolving and technical design queries and managing document and change control.

If you have experience in a Design Manager capacity within a main contracting environment, proven background of delivery on a range of project types and want to work for a business where people are the greatest asset, this could be for you.
