About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced No.1 Site Manager to oversee and lead the delivery of a £300k construction project in Central London. The Site Manager will take full responsibility for managing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage all on-site activities, ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently.
* Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all Health & Safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
* Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage sub-contractors, tradespeople, and direct labour, ensuring clear communication and coordination across the site.
* Programme Management: Monitor the project programme, ensuring that all works are completed on time and adjusting schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
* Quality Control: Ensure that all works meet the required quality standards, conducting regular checks and inspections to maintain high standards.
* Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for the client, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
* Problem-Solving: Identify potential challenges and risks on-site, proactively managing and resolving issues as they arise.
* Compliance: Ensure all site documentation is up to date, including site diaries, health & safety records, and any other required paperwork.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a No.1 Site Manager on similar-sized projects (£300k - £1m), ideally in Central London or other busy urban environments.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to enforce them on-site.
* SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid qualifications are essential.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and the wider project team.
* Experience managing and delivering projects within strict deadlines and budgets.
* Competent in using project management software and maintaining accurate site records.
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a keen eye for detail.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
