The Role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Stores and Asset person to join our contracts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the issuing of plant and materials, the maintenance of stock levels, maintaining purchase/stock details into internal systems and ensuring the availability of fleet and equipment for onsite operatives. The role requires excellent organisational skills along with good communication and negotiation abilities. Working hours Monday from 6.30am to 5pm and Tuesday to Friday 8am to 5pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

Main duties include:

  • Arranging & organizing outsourced inspection & maintenance of plant & equipment.
  • Hiring & off-hiring of plant, equipment and vans.
  • Maintain Stock levels.
  • Inspection and maintenance of plant and equipment for calibration.
  • Maintaining plant & equipment electronic records.
  • Keeping electronic records up to date of inspections.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in stock control
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to work well with suppliers, customers and other team members
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities
  • Good computer skills and the ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Professional and reliable
  • Ability to develop commercial awareness
  • Can-do attitude with a hands-on approach
  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a stock controller within the industry
  • Excellent company/Industry knowledge
